Ark City woman arrested Wednesday for break-in at a restaurant on N. Summit

Quick work by the Ark City Police Dept. this morning led to the arrest of a local woman accused of burglarizing a restaurant on N. Summit.

40-year-old Cassandra Simmons remained in the Cowley County Jail with bond set at $8,500. Booking charges include burglary, theft, and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Just before 11 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a reported break-in at Ninja Sushi Steakhouse, 1618 N. Summit St. Upon arrival, officers determined that entry had been made after business hours Wednesday. Working closely with store management, investigators gathered evidence and identified the suspect. 

Simmons, police said, admitted to the burglary and theft. During her arrest, she was also found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

She was booked into jail just after noon.
