AUDIO: ACHS alum, author and pro sports psychotherapist Dr. Corey Yeager makes hometown visit for MLK Day

Ark City native and ACHS alum Dr. Corey Yeager, a sports psychotherapist — most recently for the Detroit Pistons —  and author, stopped by the KSOK studios Monday to talk about his Cowley County roots before speaking with approximately 150 area Cowley College and high school students for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Yeager, who now resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, grew up in Ark City and played football in high school. His book, “How Am I Doing? 40 Conversations to Have with Yourself” was published last year.

Yeager holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State University, a Master of Arts degree in Psychotherapy from Argosy University and a PhD in Family Social Science from The University of Minnesota.

According to his biography, his research emphasis centers on better understanding the plight of African American relationships, while educating service organizations to utilize the family system context while facilitating meaningful change in both their personal and professional lives.
