Ashley Drummond of the American Red Cross brought representatives of various Ark City and Winfield emergency agencies to preview this week’s Battle of the Badges Blood Drive Thursday and Friday.
Drummond said Ark City won the blood drive last year after Winfield took the crown the previous two years.
According to Drummond, the series is tied 4-4 since the blood drive started.
This year’s battle will begin Thursday in Winfield from noon through 6 p.m. at Behr Rafters, located east of town on 9th Avenue across from Winfield High School.
Ark City’s blood drive will be Friday from noon to 6 p.m. at the Ark City Central Christian Church at 206 W. Central Ave.
Drummond said incentives include a Battle of the Badges t-shirt for all donors, a $15 gift card giveaway and a drawing for an all-expense paid trip to New York City.
