The Burden Fire Department has updated its gear.
According to Cowley County Fire District No. 3, the department utilized $15,000 in state grant funding to purchase new bunker coats, pants, boots and helmets for four of its firefighters.
“We’ve received this grant multiple times since its inception and in addition to several sets of bunker gear, have also received a bunker gear washing machine,” the department posted on its Facebook page Thursday morning.
