Ark City police arrested a Cambridge woman Friday on drug and theft charges.

According to a news release Tuesday from the ACPD, officers were informed of a motor vehicle theft Friday that had occurred earlier in the day in Winfield.

Later that day, while on routine patrol, an ACPD officer located the stolen vehicle parked at a gas station in the 600 Block of South Summit Street in Ark City. Officers later discovered the suspect, Kendra Hull, 38, hiding in the gas station’s bathroom.

Hull was then taken into custody for an outstanding Cowley County District warrant.

The ACPD said when Hull was questioned about the stolen vehicle, she said was returning it, claiming to have just found it in Oklahoma. Officers’ further investigation concluded that Hull had stolen the vehicle.

When being taken into custody, a search of Hull led officers to discover drug paraphernalia and a substance presumed to be methamphetamine. The search also revealed a debit card that was reported as stolen in Winfield the previous week.

As of Tuesday, Hull remains detained in the Cowley County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of stolen property, and an outstanding Cowley County District warrant.

Her bond is $7,000.
