Cedar Vale-Dexter’s Lenington wins national championship at Michigan clay target event

Brody Lenington, of Cedar Vale-Dexter High School, won the national championship Sunday at the 2024 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship. 

Shooters and teams from 456 high schools from across the nation competed in the event last weekend in Mason, Mich. 

Lenington shot a 97 in the qualifying round Saturday and was in 197th place going into the final. He then shot a perfect 100-straight and was victorious in a shoot off against 14 others who had alos posted a perfect score on the final day. (Continue story below ads.)

Lenington hit 55 targets without a miss to secure the title.

Cedar Vale-Dexter finished fifth nationally as a team. Two other Kansas schools were also in the top five. Chaparral High School finished third and Bishop Carroll was fourth.
