A celebration of life will be held Saturday in honor of retired Winfield Police Chief Danny Parker.
Parker passed away Dec. 21. He was 73.
The service will be held at Baden Square in Winfield, 700 Gary Street, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Parker became the WPD chief in 2009 and retired in 2017.
Parker was born in Wichita on March 13, 1949, according to his obituary.
He graduated from Howard High School in 1967 and went on to study vocal music at Southwestern College. After his graduation in 1971, Danny served as a teacher and coach in South Haven and Howard.
He began his long law enforcement career in 1974 as a patrol officer and detective with the Wichita Police Department until 1996.
