Leonard Hernandez is no longer CEO at SCK Health, less than a year after joining the Ark City based hospital.

SCK Health’s board of trustees made that announcement Wednesday and said Hernandez was no longer with the organization following Tuesday’s meeting of the board. CFO Shannon Gray was unanimously chosen to replace Hernandez on an interim basis.

Over the next few months, a national search to recruit a CEO for SCK Health will be conducted, officials said.

“With her knowledge of finance and the job she’s done since being hired, we are confident that Shannon will make a great leader while we search for a new CEO,” board chairman Chad Beeson said in prepared written statement.

Gray has over 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has served SCK Health since October of last year. Hernandez had been hired, on a two-year contract, to replace former CEO Jeff Bowman, who retired late last year. Continue story below ads.

Gray said she is optimistic for the future of SCK Health and asks the community for support during this transition.

“We are doing great things at SCK Health and continue to work towards new ways to better serve our community”. SCK Health remains dedicated to delivering high quality care close to home.
