Cowley College is ready to put an official name to its new Career Technology Center building on the Ark City campus.
At 6 p.m. Monday, the college board of trustees will host their regular meeting in the President’s Dining Room of the McAtee Dining Center. During the meeting, the school will announce the name of the soon-to-be complete building. This will make public for the first time the identity of the project’s largest Contributor.
The public is alway invited to attend these meetings.
The school has previously said that construction is anticipated to be completed by July of this year so the building can open in time for the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
Once finished, the facility will house the Criminal Justice and Cosmetology program and allow for the expansion of the existing welding program and additional new programs.
The Criminal Justice portion of the facility will include a simulation room with padded walls for tactics training, lab space, an interrogation room, and a dispatch room. The Cosmetology wing will include 25 styling stations in the open floor plan, a facial room, a manicure and pedicure room, and a tanning booth.
Criminal justice and cosmetology departments will move to the new center from Ireland Hall. That building will continue to serve the college in another capacity.
