Cowley County commissioners will begin tackling next year’s budget this week.
The board will hold a budget work session Thursday morning at 9 a.m. inside the Assembly Room of the Cowley County Courthouse in Winfield.
According to Thursday’s agenda, the session will start with a fiscal year 2022 audit presentation and health and benefits renewal presentation before the board hears appropriations requests.
The appropriations slate is:

- Cherokee Strip Museum
- City-County Health Department
- Council On Aging
- REACH
- K-State Extension Council
- Big Brothers Big Sisters
- Humane Society
- Four County Mental Health
- Cowley County Fair Board
- Soil Conservation District
