A Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy – who was briefly stuck inside of a vehicle Tuesday afternoon – has been treated for heat related injuries and released.
Cowley County Sheriff Dave Falletti said the man was stuck in the vehicle for seven to 10 minutes. Multiple deputies and Winfield Police and Winfield Fire-EMS showed up on scene to get him out.
Falletti said the deputy was moving a vehicle that was to be towed from a secure lot. When he shut the car off, the battery went dead and the deputy was trapped inside. He was transported to a hospital for evaluation of injuries.
“He is fine,” Falletti said, when asked about the deputy’s current condition.
