Cowley Sheriff: Ponca men arrested on trespassing and criminal hunting charges

Two people were arrested Monday morning after the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office received a report of trespassing and illegal hunting.

28-year-old Dallas Craig, of Ponca City, was arrested for criminal trespassing, criminal hunting, interference with law enforcement and possession of marijuana. 32-year-old Cody Marlar, also of Ponca, was arrested for criminal trespass, criminal hunting and interference with law enforcement.

Marlar also had a warrant for failure to appear out of Ark City, according to the sheriff’s report. Both men have posted bond and been released. Continue story below ad.

Around 8:55 that morning, authorities were called to the 23000 block of 312th Rd., east of Ark City, for the report of possible trespassing and illegal hunting. The two suspects fled the area when law enforcement arrived.

They were later arrested in the area at separate locations.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife and Parks and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
