Cowley Sheriff’s Office arrests man, 36, following burglary investigation Saturday

A 36-year-old man remained in the Cowley County Jail Wednesday after a burglary investigation led to his arrest over the weekend.

Mark Montana Legrand was booked into jail Saturday afternoon on charges of aggravated burglary and possession of stolen property. His bond was at $4,000.

Around 8:20 a.m. Saturday, Cowley County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 26000 block of 282nd Rd. for the report of a burglary. The Kansas Highway Patrol took the report.

A deputy later located Legrand and he was arrested as a result of the investigation. He had recently been in custody in Chautauqua County. He has previously listed locations in Kansas and Oklahoma as his home residence.

He has previously faced criminal charges in Oklahoma.
