Crime Stoppers ask for public’s help regarding Winfield American Legion burglary

Cowley County Crime Stoppers in Winfield is asking for the publics help in solving a burglary report.

According to a news release Monday from the Winfield Police Department, officers were dispatched on Oct. 18 to the American Legion, located at 115 West 10th Avenue, to take a burglary report.

Officers spoke with several individuals associated with the Legion referencing the break in.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered an unknown person or persons entered the building by forcing their way into the business at some point between 9 p.m. Oct. 17 and 11:20 a.m. on Oct. 18.

Once the suspect(s) entered, an undisclosed amount of cash was removed from an area inside an office.
