The deadline for registering to vote in the Aug. 6 primary is Tuesday, July 16.
In Cowley County, that election will determine the winner of the county commission Dist. 2 seat. That district, which includes the southern portion of the county including Arkansas City, is the only competitive county race.
Three Republicans, incumbent Bob Voegele, former commissioner and current Cowley College Trustee Gary Wilson, and Jim Maxwell, filed for the position.
Registering or updating your voter registration information must be done by the 16th.
Wednesday, July 17 marks the first day of advance voting. Advance ballots by mail are transmitted. In-person advance voting may begin. Check with your county election officer for specific times and locations. (Continue story below ads.)
July 30 is the final day to apply for an advance mail ballot. In person advance voting ends Monday, Aug. 5 with the primary election held the following day.
All advance ballots by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Friday, Aug. 9.
