Two people sustained minor injuries Tuesday afternoon in an accident that occurred on U.S. 77 north of Winfield, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Just after 1:20 p.m., emergency crews were called to 77 and 72nd Rd. for the report of an accident. A northbound semi was attempting to turn and a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 52-year-old Jacqueline Mahlandt, Atlanta, was slowed behind it.
73-year-old Jesse Crockford, Hutchinson, approached in a 2019 Ford F-150. He did not see the vehicles ahead were slowed and struck the Dodge Ram from behind. (Continue story below ad.)
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Crockford was taken to the hospital in Winfield for treatment of minor injuries. Mahlandt sustained minor injuries and did not visit the hospital.
