A field survey for a proposed U.S. 160 culvert replacement in rural Cowley County is underway.
According to a news release from the Kansas Department of Transportation, survey work began Monday.
The location is about 7.4 miles west of the Cowley/Elk county line, or just east of Cambridge. The survey length is 2,500 feet, and the survey is based on the existing alignment.
“The field survey will gather information needed for the detailed design of the proposed improvement,” KDOT said. “A member of the survey crew first will contact property owners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property.
“Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor.”
The field survey is estimated to be completed by Jan. 12.
Travis Haizlip, P.S., Survey Project Manager, CFS, will be in charge of this survey for KDOT.
