Official final vote totals from the Nov. 4 city-school elections show the second bond proposition question for USD 470 passed by 24 votes.
The question received 932 yes votes and 908 no votes. On election night, unofficial totals had 913 voting yes and 881 voting no, a difference of 32 votes.
Totals were adjusted following a vote canvassing conducted by the Cowley County Commission acting as the election board. Various votes are considered during canvassing, including those with potential registration issues and those that must be hand counted.
Final vote totals for USD 470 bond question 1 showed 1,153 voted yes and 697 voted no. That is up from 1,129 yes and 674 no.
Question 1 provides funding for district wide projects and significant renovations at Ark City Middle School. Question 2 funds a $14 million consolidated Pre-K center.
Canvassing totals changed the order of finishers for the Cowley College Board of Trustees. However, the four who won seats did not change.
Stanley Cochran finished with 1,792 votes, Gary Wilson 1,668, Brett Bazil 1,664, and Bob McGregor 1,659. Bazil and Wilson switched places, and both have won seats.
