Cam Allen, a former member of the Cowley College baseball team, and rising country music star, will perform along with his Oklahoma-based band Saturday, April 22 at the Burford Theatre in Arkansas City.

Cam Allen will perform as part of the 2023 VJ Wilkins Performance Series. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the show will start at 7 p.m. He and his band are excited to come back to Arkansas City for this special concert at the historic Burford Theatre.

“My experience at Cowley was honestly the best experience I have had thus far in my lifetime,” Allen said. “Meeting all my coaches and lifelong friends on the team and off the team was one I will never forget.”

Blending south side Oklahoma roots with an unmistakable Nashville sound, Cam has headlined numerous sold-out shows and shared the stage with some of country’s top music talent, including Dustin Lynch (Calf-Fry Festival 2022), Randy Rogers (SWOSUpalooza 2022), Jack Ingram (Gruene Hall 2022), Chris Cagle, Randall King (Banita Creek Hall 2023), Corey Kent, and Mike Ryan.

Cam’s mellow yet catchy tracks narrate stories ranging from love and heartbreak to themes of relationships, family, and friends. For Cam, “there’s a lot about finding your way through life as things change, relationships change, and you walk your path of ups and downs.”

Fronted by Cam on vocals, his band features Will Murray on lead guitar, Zander Silva on guitar, Desmund Richey on bass, Carlos Encarnacion on drums, and BJ Lee on keys. These self-taught musicians would gather in their parents’ garages to play music together after their wrestling matches, baseball and football games in high school and college. Now based in Moore, OK, their love for music and passion for writing evolved over the years into a bluesy-tinged vocal sound influenced by classic country greats and Texas red dirt styles.

Cam’s debut EP titled Daydream was released in March of 2022 on GOAT Music Group, an independent Texas label. To date, Cam has released six singles: Daydream, Drink To That Too, Texas, Jack Daniel’s Cologne, Lake Days, and his lates, Missin’ You. His first album, In a Hometown, is set to release in 2023.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.

“I am excited to be back in Ark City playing the Burford,” Allen said. “When we were there playing ball we would always talk about me playing there and how much history the place has. I have been to the Burford twice in my life and am excited to hopefully sell out my college hometown.”
