Hannah Nicolaisen, a two-time All-American as a member of the Cowley College volleyball team and talented musician, recently advanced among the Top 26 competitors in the search for the next American Idol.

The series heads to Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa in Hawaii and will air on ABC on Sunday and Monday at 7 p.m.

Nicolaisen, a native of Houston, Texas, ranked second in Cowley volleyball history in kills in a season and kills in a career at the conclusion of her two seasons (2017-18), according to a news release from the college.

She helped the Tiger volleyball team to a fifth place national finish in 2017 and a record of 33-7 as a sophomore.

She went on to play volleyball and study exercise science at the University of Illinois Springfield, graduating in 2022.

After rising up to the grueling challenge of Hollywood Week, Nicolaisen is moving on to America’s vote. Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
