From Wednesday:
The City of Ark City has announced the city commission will hold a special meeting this afternoon at 2 p.m. inside City Hall to discuss the status of Ark City Fire-EMS Chief Chris Ledeker.
“The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the release of duties of Fire-EMS Chief, Ledeker from the Arkansas City Fire Department,” an email from the city stated Wednesday just before 11:30 a.m.. “No other business will be discussed at this meeting.”
Ledeker, who was hired as the new fire chief in September, came to Ark City from Arkansas where he served as fire chief for two departments.
On Dec. 1, a town hall organized by Ark City Commissioner Kanyon Ghinger featuring Ledeker and former Cowley College President Randy Smith was attended by 80 citizens, according to reporting from the Cowley CourierTraveler.
The next day, on Dec. 2, Ledeker joined the Morning Mixtape on Bob FM and discussed the meeting. Ledeker said questions involved concerns with shift changes and personnel replacements.
