Ark City Fire/EMS was dispatched to a grass fire that engulfed an abandoned structure over the weekend.
According to the fire department, fire fighters were dispatched early Saturday morning for a grass fire around the area of East Chestnut and Lord Lane.
Upon arriving on scene, fire personnel discovered an abandoned structure had burned to the ground and was smoldering. Personnel extinguished the hot spots and returned to service.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
