Storm activity in Kay County Okla. and Cowley County have led to the sounding of emergency sirens in multiple locations Saturday.
A tornado was said to have touched down in the area of Chilocco and U.S. 77 highway not far from the Oklahoma casinos south of Ark City. Those storms moved along a line east/ northeast into Kansas.
Warning sirens were sounded in Dexter, Maple City and Cambridge as a precaution, according to Cowley County Emergency management.
Kay NewsCow reports that heavy rains has led to standing water on roadways in and around Newkirk, Okla. First responders were checking the area for anyone who needed assistance.
Large hail was reported in Blackwell.
