Hillcrest Lanes in Ark City is closing at the end of the month, according to a post from the bowling alley’s Facebook page Friday.
The post said the building has new owners and that it’s not yet known what they have planned for the property. Richard and Patricia Doffing were the owners of Hillcrest Lanes, which has been the bowling destination in Ark City for decades even prior to the Doffings’ ownership.
“After 30 years, our parents are getting to retire!,” the post said. “Hillcrest Lanes has been a part of our family for 30 years! This truly is a bittersweet time for our family. The bowling alley has brought so many people into our lives, and we are truly thankful for all of you!”
The last day Hillcrest Lanes will be open to the public is Dec. 30. All equipment and lockers need to be cleaned out by the end of the day on Dec. 30, the bowling alley said.
