Ark City High School track and field athletes lit up the school record book Thursday at the league meet in Andover.
The girls 4×100 team of sophomores Saliyah Johnson, Kierslynn Waggoner, Kinzie Purdue and Savannah Phillips broke the Bulldogs school record at 50.00 flat and took the gold.

Phillips also broke the school record in the 100m hurdles — twice.
Phillips first broke the record in the prelims with a time of 15.60, then bested it in the finals with a time of 15.43.

School records have been falling this season for Ark City Track and Field.
Gabe Onelio, a junior, broke the school record in the 1600m May 5 at the Shawnee Mission North Relays with a time of 4:23.90. The previous benchmark of 4:25.44 was set in 1988.

Regionals for Ark City begin May 18 back at Andover Central, while Winfield will also begin on the same day at Towanda-Circle.
