Kaylen Artherton begins her first season as an assistant softball coach at Cowley College after serving as a team manager in 2017 and 2018.

“I am excited to bring Kaylen on staff,” Cowley head coach Jenny Hoyt said. “She has been around the program since 2017, and with that, she brings a lot of loyalty to our program. I am confident that she knows and understands the culture of our program and what kind of players we want here at Cowley. She’s a hard worker and will bring good value to this program. She will be a great addition to Cowley College.”

Arhterton helped the 2018 team finish as conference champions, region champions, and place fifth at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. From Cowley, she went on to Wichita State University to complete her Sports Management degree.

While attending Wichita State, she worked with the Shocker softball team, doing game day operations and media for the softball program.

She has remained close to the Cowley softball program by volunteering at several summer camps the Lady Tiger softball program put on.

Cowley finished last season as conference champions with an overall record of 39-14.

“I am excited to get back to Cowley, a place that helped me get to where I am today,” Artherton said. “I can’t thank Coach Hoyt enough for believing in me and allowing me to be on staff. I am ready to get the girls on campus and get the year started.”
