KDOT approves milling, overlay bids for U.S. 166 west of Ark City into Sumner County

The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved bids for state highway work in Cowley and Sumner counties.

KDOT says U.S. 166 from the Sumner/Cowley line east to the west city limits of Ark City has been approved for five miles of milling and overlay work. Pearson Construction out of Wichita received the bid at a cost of $1,546,167.80.

On the Sumner County side of the work, milling and overlay work via Pearson Construction will continue from mile marker 9 east to the Sumner County line for five miles at nearly the same cost of $1,450,129.50.
