A Kansas Department of Transportation resurfacing project on K-15 in eastern Cowley County is scheduled to begin later this month, conditions permitting.

The project will chip seal from the U.S. 166 junction to the U.S. 160 junction. It’s a stretch of roadway that passes through Dexter.

This project will refresh the surface of the highway to allow for smoother traffic movement, KDOT officials said.

Traffic will be guided through the construction by a flagging operation and a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Work is set to begin July 14 and crews hope to be finished by the end of August.

Circle C Paving, based in Goddard, is the primary contractor for the $514,000 project.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in South Central Kansas, visit https://ksdot.gov/projects/south-central-kansas-projects.
