A 20-year-old man from Cowley County is continuing to recover after being seriously injured in a weekend motorcycle accident near Augusta.
Kostner McClung, a Winfield native who currently lives in Ark City, was hospitalized in Wichita following the accident. He has since been released and faces a considerable road to full recovery, according to his father, Kevin McClung.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. Saturday when Kostner McClung could not negotiate a sudden curve in the roadway.
Kevin said his son’s injuries include a fractured spine and shoulder and broken hand, leg, rib and toe. He will be out of work for an extended period, his father said.
The accident happened an hour or two before his Kevin’s daughter, Kostner’s sister, was to be wed.
“I walked her down the aisle and had my first dance with her before we left and went to see him,” Kevin said Thursday.
The family has established an account for donations to help with Kostner’s medical expenses.
