Arkansas City Fire/EMS responded Saturday afternoon to a report of a man injured in a fall while trimming a tree in the 600 block of North C Street.
Fire/EMS crews were dispatched at approximately 4:38 p.m. after a 37-year-old man fell an estimated 30 to 35 feet from a tree. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his lower legs and lower back.
Because the incident occurred about four blocks from the Fire/EMS station, responders transported the patient to the Arkansas City Fire/EMS Department. An open field adjacent to the station was used as a landing zone for EagleMed.
EagleMed assumed care at the scene and airlifted the patient to Wichita for further medical evaluation and treatment.
