Local police and Winfield Fire-EMS responded to a report of a man who appeared to be overdosing in the bathroom at a fast-food restaurant.
Officers were dispatched Sunday to Wendy’s, 1617 Main, for an adult male who was not breathing.
Employees of the restaurant were performing CPR and police took that over as they arrived. Narcan was administered to the 20-year-old man and he was revived, police said in response to email questions from Cowley Post.
While tending to the male, officers were made aware of an adult female in the restroom stall next to where the man was found. She was unresponsive and believed to be overdosing but was breathing. The woman is 18.
Winfield Fire-EMS arrived and took over medical treatment. Both people, who were not identified by name, were transported to William Newton Hospital for treatment.
Both were expected to fully recover.
