Learning block coding on a virtual robot, sphero robot, and cues for the Wonder Workshop Dash robot, students in grades sixth through eighth enjoyed a fun week of activities in the Robotics Camp held on Cowley College’s main campus in Ark City, according to a press release from the college Tuesday.
In addition, the campers used the drive mode for racing and obstacle avoidance. They also designed their own competition for a sumo wrestling match using the Sphero robot.
Cowley College Instructor David Hays facilitated the camp.
“It was fun watching them develop their own rules for the competition,” Hays said. “It was probably the most collaborative event I have seen in a camp and gave me an idea for the competition.”
