Work began this week on a mill and overlay project on Main, which is also U.S. 77, in Winfield.
The project area extends from Sixth Ave. to 11th Ave. All traffic lanes and parking areas along this stretch of roadway are included. Minor traffic interruptions can be expected at times and work is expected to continue for approximately two more weeks.
This project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve road conditions and ensure long-term safety and drivability for residents and visitors. It will include important updates for bicycles and pedestrians in the construction zone.
Motorists are asked to follow all construction traffic devices and exercise caution when traveling through the area. Temporary detours, lane shifts, or reduced speeds may be in place to facilitate safe and efficient construction operations.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we complete this essential roadway improvement,” said Taggart Wall, city manager.
