A Cowley County man reported missing Monday was found deceased inside his vehicle Tuesday in rural Osage County in Oklahoma.

According to a news release from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday morning, the man was identified as Rustin Michael Smith. He was 41.

The sheriff’s office says a citizen notified authorities Tuesday that a vehicle was found in some brush near rural Osage County.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office, who is handling the recovery, conducted an investigation and discovered Rustin deceased inside his locked vehicle.

No foul play is suspected, authorities say.

Rustin had been missing since last Friday.

In an unrelated case, a 32-year-old Winfield man was found deceased in eastern rural Cowley County Monday morning.

Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti told KSOK Thursday the man was reported missing by family Sunday evening. The case is being investigated as an apparent suicide.
