A Mulvane man was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday north of the Cowley State Fishing Lake on Grouse Creek Road near Dexter.
According to a news release from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office Monday afternoon, the deceased was identified as Mike Swope.
He was 55.
Deputies were dispatched to the 21000 block of Grouse Creek Road for a motorcycle accident. No other vehicles were involved.
The motorcycle and Swope were in the north ditch of Grouse Creek Road when first responders arrived.
The accident investigation showed the motorcycle was traveling northbound following the roadway when the driver failed to negotiate the curve and entered the north ditch, the sheriff’s office said.
Swope was pronounced deceased at the scene.
