Newly-elected Dist. 2 Cowley County Commissioner Jim Maxwell will be sworn into office at the commission’s regular meeting Tuesday night in Winfield.
Just before that, the commission will recognize the service of departing commissioner Bob Voegele, who served two four-year terms. Voegele lost his reelection bid to Maxwell in the August Republican primary.
There was no Democrat challenger in November.
Commissioner Alan Groom will be sworn into a new four-year term. County clerk Karen Madison, treasurer Maci DeCoudres, register of deeds Toni Long, Sheriff David Falletti and county attorney Larry Schwartz will take their oaths of office and be sworn into new terms.
All but Maxwell ran unopposed for reelection.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cowley County Courthouse assembly room.
