With Cowley College’s Board of Trustees recently approving the addition of a NIRA-sanctioned rodeo team at its Sumner Campus, more than 150 people attended the Boots and Black Tie Gala fundraising kickoff at the Sumner Campus in Wellington.
According to a news release from the college, the event featured a social hour, dinner, and a presentation from new Cowley College president, Dr. Randy Smith. Music and dancing followed.
“We had outstanding attendance, and I am very pleased with the event and the community response,” Dr. Smith said.
Cowley College’s Sumner Campus opened in 2018 and is the home to the college’s agriculture program, which features clubs and competitive teams to enhance the student’s experiences and education.
The Sumner Campus recently opened newly constructed housing for its students that attend either the Sumner Campus Technology and Innovation Center or Short General Education Center.
