A 23-year-old woman – injured in a motor vehicle accident on U.S. 77 north of Ark City Tuesday night – has died, according to Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti.
Reyna Batrez, of Park City, had been hospitalized in Wichita since shortly after the accident. She died Thursday.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, authorities and rescue crews were dispatched to 242nd Rd. and U.S. 77 highway for the report of an injury accident.
Batrez was driving a silver Nissan Altima when she failed to stop at the stop sign on 242nd Rd. Her vehicle entered the intersection and struck a gray 2019 Honda Pilot traveling southbound on 77.
Batrez was the only person injured.
