Winfield Police are continuing to investigate an apparent shots fired incident in the parking lot at Walmart, Chief Robbie DeLong confirmed to Cowley Post.
Around 3 p.m. Friday, police and Cowley County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to 2202 Pike Rd. for the report of shots fired. So far, police are working only off information from third-party accounts of the incident.
Two vehicles were said to be involved, and shots were fired in at least one direction between vehicles, according to initial information from the scene.
Police investigators are working to review any available video footage. They have also been checking local hospitals to determine if anyone may have been injured, DeLong said.
So far no injuries have been confirmed. The investigation is continuing, the chief said.
