A small portion of U.S. 160 highway between Wellington and Oxford will require repair following the moving of a crane being used to construct a wind farm.
On Wed. Oct. 23, the roadway was closed for a time to allow the crane to cross the street. A platform was to be constructed to prevent damage to the roadway.
In the process, though, a depression was made in the highway, according to a KDOT spokesperson. The damage was repaired with a short-term patch.
Signage is being used to warn drivers of a “bump” in the roadway and they are advised to slow down.
A longer-term repair is planned and will be paid for by an entity or entities associated with the wind farm.
