Road work is expected to begin May 16 on a 3.5-mile section of U.S. 177 in Sumner County.
According to a news release from the Kansas Department of Transportation, the project involves a mill and hot-mix-asphalt overlay on U.S. 177 from the Kansas/Oklahoma state line to the U.S. 81 south junction at South Haven.
During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should expect to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.
Cornejo & Sons, of Wichita, is the primary contractor for the $656,064 project and a completion date is slated for June 13.
