SCK Health has announced the addition of Lori Schwartz to the roster of providers at SCK Health Primary Care in Ark City.
According to a news release from the hospital, Schwartz rejoins the SCK Health family as a board-certified family nurse practitioner, previously working in SCK Health’s surgery department.
“She offers a wealth of clinical nursing experience, caring for patients covering the entire lifespan,” the hospital stated.
Schwartz began her nursing practice serving two health systems in Topeka: The University of Kansas St. Francis Campus and Stormont Vail Health Emergency and Trauma Center. There she cared for patients in the areas of orthopedics, rehabilitation, surgery, and neonatal intensive care.
Schwartz also cared for geriatric residents on the weekends in two separate long-term care facilities which specialized in dementia and Alzheimer’s care. In Topeka, Schwartz also put her surgical nursing skills to use working for several ophthalmologists, gaining valuable experience in the operations of a private medical office.
After moving to Ark City, Schwartz worked in the surgery department at William Newton Hospital in Winfield. In recent years, she has enjoyed engaging in the challenges presented in public health and serving the pediatric population within the USD 470 Ark City Public School setting, SCK Health said.
“I am excited to return to my SCK Health family and feel privileged to be given the opportunity to serve others in my community in a new way,” Schwartz said.
SCK Health CEO Jeff Bowman said in the news release he is grateful to have Schwartz back.
“Lori will be a great asset to our provider team at SCK Health,” he said. “Her experience and commitment to our community are invaluable and we are ecstatic to have her back with us.”
