SCK Health has a new chief financial officer.
According to a news release from the hospital Thursday, Shannon Gray will succeed Debbie Hockenbury, who retired recently after three years in the position.
“During her tenure, Debbie helped lead the hospital through the national COVID-19 pandemic, and the change from SCK Health operating as a PPS hospital to the new Rural Emergency Hospital designation,” the Ark City-based hospital said. “SCK Health expresses gratitude for Debbie’s dedicated service and wishes her all the best in her retirement.”
Gray has over 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry, the hospital said.
“Shannon brings a wealth of knowledge to this role,” the news release said.
Majoring in accounting, Gray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
Gray began her career as a staff accountant at Ponca City Medical Center and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming financial controller at Blackwell Hospital, SCK Health said. She then served as CFO at Fairfax Medical Facilities for four years.
Although new to SCK Health, Gray is no stranger to Cowley County.
“Having a long-standing family connection to Ark City, Shannon is thrilled to be serving the same community she grew up in,” the hospital said.
Outside of work, SCK Health said Gray enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Greg, have been married for 37 years and share four children and four grandchildren.
“We are excited to have Shannon on our team at SCK Health and look forward to utilizing her skills to drive our organization forward,” the hospital said.
