Multiple people were injured Friday evening in a three-vehicle accident south of Ark City on U.S. Highway 77, according to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept.
Just after 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 77 and 322nd Rd. for the report of an injury accident.
19-year-old Avery Rappleye, of Herriman, Utah, was southbound on 77 and attempting to turn east onto 322nd Rd. She failed to yield to northbound traffic, according to the sheriff’s report.
Rappleye’s silver 2024 Hyundai struck a 2022 gray Ford van driven by Michail Loyd, 43, of Benton, Kan. A northbound silver 2020 Toyota RAV4, driven by 58-year-old Nick Di Meo, Winfield, then struck Rappleye’s vehicle and caused it to roll to the side of the highway. (Continue story below ads.)
