Jerry McConnell, of Overland Park, was not found Thursday, following another day of searching at a location near Cambridge in rural Cowley County.

The 81-year-old woman’s vehicle was discovered this week abandoned near where the search has been conducted. Very extensive aerial, ground and water searches have been conducted over the past three days.

K9 units have been involved at times to assist.

A grid search on foot was completed Thursday. Between 25 and 30 people helped with that after Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti made a public call for volunteers.

“We have one last dog team going out in the morning,” Falletti said Thursday evening.

Foul play is not suspected in the woman’s disappearance, Falletti said in response to a question from Cowley Post.

A Silver Alert was issued last week for McConnell who had been driving from a location in Missouri to her residence in Overland Park. The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office said McConnell’s vehicle plate had been detected travelling west on U.S. 160 at 327th Rd. in Cowley County on May 15.

Further information on her location had not been verified until her abandoned 2009 Honda Accord was found in Cowley County Tuesday.
