Sheriff’s notes: Man arrested after reportedly being stopped at stop sign for over 10 minutes

An area man was arrested early this morning on drug-related charges after being reported for suspicious behavior in rural Cowley County.

Daryl D. Leverenz, 34, Wellington, was booked into jail on charges of possessing narcotics and drug-paraphernalia. He remained in custody as of this morning.

Around 1:40 a.m., sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3000 block of 192nd Rd., south of Winfield, for the report of a vehicle that had been stopped at a stop sign for more than 10 minutes. Following a brief investigation, Leverenz was arrested and taken to jail.

Previous court records show Leverenz has listed addresses in Cowley and Sumner counties.
