Sumner County voters have approved the renewal of a half-cent sales tax that helps fund Cowley College’s Sumner Campus.
Final unofficial totals from Tuesday’s election show 2,081 yes votes to 1,848 no votes. The measure extends the existing tax for another ten years.
The half-cent tax, first approved in 2016, supports construction, repairs, and equipment for Cowley College’s vocational, technical and general education programs in Sumner County. Officials noted the renewal does not raise the rate — it simply continues the current funding.
County election results remain unofficial until canvassed by commissioners.
