Three people have been arrested following an August theft at Home Lumber in Winfield.
Police were dispatched Aug. 5 to the store, located at 1201 Main Street, after employees reported that several individuals had stolen numerous power tools.
Investigators worked with Cowley County Crimestoppers to release information and request the public’s help identifying the suspects. After the release was shared, several tips came in that helped officers confirm the suspects’ identities.
Police identified the three as Michael Graham, 51, of El Dorado; Leigh Moore, 38, of Augusta; and Dakotah Sater, 30, of El Dorado. Arrest warrants were issued Sept. 1, and all three have since been taken into custody outside of Cowley County.
Moore remained in custody out of county. Sater has been transferred to the Cowley County Jail in Winfield. Information on Graham’s current status was not immediately available.
Lt. Gary Bortz said surveillance video from the store and nearby cameras helped track the suspects’ vehicle to the Wichita area shortly after the theft. FLOCK traffic surveillance was also used.
“The Winfield Police Department greatly appreciates the community involvement in this case,” Bortz said. “Working with Cowley Crimestoppers and the public continues to lead to solving crimes.”
Crimestoppers officials said those who provided anonymous information that helped clear the case may be eligible for a reward.
