U.S. 166 bridge work will restrict travel there to one lane; KDOT approves U.S. 81 bid

Patching and overlay work on the U.S. 166 bridge east of Ark City is set to begin soon.

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation Tuesday, the repair work for the Sgt. Tyler A. Juden Memorial Bridge is expected to begin around Aug. 14 and be completed around Nov. 30.

During the work, traffic will be restricted to one lane, controlled by a 24-hour signal light. Motorists should be prepared to stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Wildcat Construction Co. Inc., of Wichita, is the primary contractor for the $789,867 project.

KDOT approves U.S. 81 work

Crack repair work was approved for U.S. 81 from 2.5 miles north of RS 65 north to the south city limits of Wellington, and from the north city limits of Wellington north to the Sumner/Sedgwick county line.

KDOT says the work will total 18.9 miles. Pavement Pro’s LLC out of McPherson was approved for the work with a bid of $145,776.07.
