Winfield middle and high schools delayed dismissal for a time Wednesday afternoon while police investigated a potential threat.
On Facebook, around 4:10 p.m., USD 465 announced that any possible threat had been addressed and lockdown status had ended. Students were then released.
Students were never in “direct danger” according to the district. Law enforcement was on scene and buses were delayed.
No additional information was released.
